Overview
The eMH1 Wallbox is a compact 7.2kW single-phase wall-mounted EVSE with a built-in Type 2 socket. It is designed for simple, reliable EV charging in homes, businesses, hotels, car parks, and other private or semi-public locations.
It is a good option if you want a tidy, European-designed socketed wall unit without needing app control, solar charging, OCPP, or advanced smart features.
Because this is a socketed EVSE, you use your own charging cable. This makes it easy to charge different vehicles by using the correct cable, and means you can take the cable with you to BYO-cable AC charging locations such as malls, supermarkets, motels, and public destination chargers.
Best for
- Homes wanting a compact socketed wall-mounted EVSE
- Hotels, motels, car parks, workplaces, and semi-public charging locations
- Drivers wanting a simple 7.2kW charging setup without extra smart features
- Shared sites where different vehicles may use different charging cables
- Customers wanting a proven European wallbox design
Compatibility
Connection type: Type 2 socket / untethered
This EVSE suits Type 2, Type 1, and Japanese-import Tesla/NACS electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids when used with the correct charging cable.
- Use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for most NZ-new, UK-import, European, Korean, Chinese, and modern Type 2 EVs.
- Use a Type 2 to Type 1 cable for many Japanese-import Type 1 vehicles such as Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
- Use a Type 2 to NACS cable for Japanese-import Teslas with the NACS/Tesla charge port.
Why choose the eMH1?
- Compact wallbox design: a small, tidy EVSE that suits homes and semi-public locations
- Socketed flexibility: change cables as your vehicles change, or support visitors with different EVs
- Simple operation: ideal for customers who do not need app control or advanced smart features
- Private and semi-public use: suitable for homes, workplaces, accommodation, and car park charging
- Built-in DC leakage detection: includes EV-specific fault protection as part of the unit
- European-designed hardware: a proven wallbox platform designed for reliable AC charging
Simple socketed charging
The eMH1 is designed to keep EV charging straightforward. Plug in a suitable charging cable, connect your vehicle, and charge from a fixed wall-mounted EVSE.
The socketed design is especially useful where different vehicles may use the same EVSE. A Type 2 vehicle can use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, a Type 1 vehicle can use a Type 2 to Type 1 cable, and a Japanese-import Tesla with a NACS/Tesla charge port can use a Type 2 to NACS cable.
Charging speed guide
On a suitable single-phase 32A supply, this EVSE can charge at up to 7.2kW. That is roughly 50–55km of range per hour for a typical efficient EV, or most/all of a full charge overnight for many vehicles.
Actual charging speed depends on the vehicle, cable, installation, available supply, EVSE settings, battery state, and charging losses.

Choosing the right EV charging setup
The eMH1 is a good choice if you want a compact, simple, socketed 7.2kW wall EVSE for private or semi-public charging without advanced smart features.
If you want a more budget-friendly socketed wall EVSE, consider the EV Power Slimline Single Phase EVSE. It is hard to beat for a simple, robust, easy-to-use 7.2kW setup.
If you want a smart socketed EVSE with Dynamic Load Balancing, OCPP support, optional solar capability, app/RFID/plug-and-charge control, and EECA-approved status, consider the ECO Charge 7.2kW Smart OCPP EVSE.
If you prefer a premium New Zealand-made EVSE with the Evnex software and support ecosystem, clean design, integrated connectivity, solar-aware charging, and strong local backing, consider the Evnex E2 Plus.
