Overview
The EcoLink 7.2kW OCPP EVSE is a smart single-phase wall-mounted EVSE designed for homes, baches, small businesses, shared parking, and light commercial EV charging.
It is a good choice if you want a compact, socketed EVSE with OCPP support, Dynamic Load Balancing, optional solar capability, and the ability to connect into future managed charging or grid-management services if required.
Because this is a socketed EVSE, you use your own charging cable. This makes it easy to charge different vehicles by using the correct cable, and means you can take the cable with you to BYO-cable AC charging locations such as malls, supermarkets, motels, and public destination chargers.
Best for
- Homes wanting a smart single-phase wall-mounted EVSE
- Small businesses, staff parking, and light commercial charging
- Shared driveways, baches, motels, and accommodation providers
- Customers wanting OCPP support for future smart charging compatibility
- Installations where Dynamic Load Balancing helps protect the site supply
- Multi-EV households where a socketed EVSE gives more flexibility
Compatibility
Connection type: Type 2 socket / untethered
This EVSE suits Type 2, Type 1, and Japanese-import Tesla/NACS electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids when used with the correct charging cable.
- Use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for most NZ-new, UK-import, European, Korean, Chinese, and modern Type 2 EVs.
- Use a Type 2 to Type 1 cable for many Japanese-import Type 1 vehicles such as Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
- Use a Type 2 to NACS cable for Japanese-import Teslas with the NACS/Tesla charge port.
Why choose the EcoLink?
- OCPP support: designed for smart charging, future managed charging, and grid-management compatibility
- Dynamic Load Balancing: adjusts charging power to help reduce the risk of overloading your home or business supply
- Optional solar capability: can be set up for solar-aware charging with optional accessories
- Socketed flexibility: change cables as your vehicles change, or support visitors with different EVs
- Good for shared locations: suits homes, small businesses, staff parking, motels, baches, and managed sites
- Compact design: a tidy wall-mounted EVSE that does not take up unnecessary space
- Built-in DC leakage detection: includes EV-specific fault protection as part of the unit
Smart charging and managed charging
EcoLink is OCPP-enabled, which means it can communicate with compatible charge management platforms if required. This makes it a practical option where future smart charging, managed charging, reporting, or grid-management compatibility may be useful.
Dynamic Load Balancing helps manage EV charging power based on site demand. When other household or business loads are high, the EVSE can reduce charging power to help protect the supply and reduce nuisance tripping.
Optional solar capability can also be added with the required accessories, making EcoLink a suitable choice for customers who want the option of solar-aware charging rather than a basic fixed-output wall unit.
Charging speed guide
On a suitable single-phase 32A supply, this EVSE can charge at up to 7.2kW. That is roughly 50–55km of range per hour for a typical efficient EV, or most/all of a full charge overnight for many vehicles.
Actual charging speed depends on the vehicle, cable, installation, available supply, EVSE settings, battery state, and charging losses.
