Overview

The EV Power Slimline 22kW Three Phase EVSE is a compact, affordable wall-mounted EVSE for homes, businesses, workshops, and light commercial sites with three-phase power.

It is a great choice if you want a simple, robust, socketed 22kW EVSE without stepping up to a more expensive solar, OCPP, or Dynamic Load Balancing unit.

Because this is a socketed EVSE, you use your own charging cable. This makes it easy to charge different vehicles by using the correct cable, and means you can take the cable with you to BYO-cable AC charging locations such as malls, supermarkets, motels, and public destination chargers.

Best for

  • Homes or businesses with three-phase power available
  • Drivers with EVs that support three-phase AC charging
  • Workshops, dealerships, staff parking, and light commercial charging
  • Customers wanting a simple and affordable 22kW socketed wall EVSE
  • Multi-EV sites where a socketed EVSE gives more flexibility

Compatibility

Connection type: Type 2 socket / untethered

This EVSE is designed for three-phase AC charging up to 22kW, but charging speed depends on both your site supply and the vehicle’s onboard AC charger.

Many EVs only support single-phase AC charging. These vehicles can still charge from this EVSE with the correct cable, but they will only charge at their own single-phase AC limit. To get the full 22kW benefit, your vehicle must support three-phase AC charging and the EVSE must be installed on a suitable three-phase supply.

  • Use a Type 2 to Type 2 cable for most NZ-new, UK-import, European, Korean, Chinese, and modern Type 2 EVs.
  • Use a Type 2 to Type 1 cable for many Japanese-import Type 1 vehicles such as Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. These vehicles will charge at single-phase speeds only.
  • Use a Type 2 to NACS cable for Japanese-import Teslas with the NACS/Tesla charge port. These vehicles will generally charge at single-phase speeds only.

Why choose the Slimline Three Phase?

  • Great value: a proper 22kW three-phase wall-mounted EVSE at a sharp price
  • Simple daily charging: ideal for drivers or sites that want straightforward charging without unnecessary complexity
  • Socketed flexibility: change cables as your vehicles change, or support visitors with different EVs
  • RFID access: useful for workplaces, staff parking, workshops, or shared charging locations
  • App control: Bluetooth-linked app control for scheduling, current adjustment, and status monitoring
  • Built-in DC leakage detection: includes EV-specific fault protection as part of the unit
  • Indoor or outdoor installation: IP66 rated for suitable indoor or outdoor locations

Simple smart features

The Slimline Three Phase EVSE includes useful smart basics without requiring a full cloud-connected charging system. The Bluetooth-linked app can be used to schedule charging, adjust charging current, and check charging status.

RFID support is built in, making it a practical option for staff parking, workshops, dealerships, shared driveways, small businesses, and other locations where you may not want the EVSE to be freely usable by anyone.

Charging speed guide

On a suitable three-phase 32A supply, this EVSE can charge at up to 22kW. For compatible vehicles, that can add roughly 150km or more of range per hour, making it much faster than a single-phase 7.2kW EVSE.

Actual charging speed depends on the vehicle, cable, installation, available supply, EVSE settings, battery state, and charging losses. Many EVs only accept single-phase AC charging, so they will not charge at the full 22kW rate even when connected to a three-phase EVSE.

Choosing the right EV charging setup

The EV Power Slimline Three Phase EVSE is a great choice if you have three-phase power available and want a simple, robust, budget-friendly socketed 22kW wall EVSE.

If your home only has single-phase power, or your vehicle only supports single-phase AC charging, the EV Power Slimline Single Phase EVSE is usually the better fit.
