Overview
The Premium 4.0 Tesla Portable EVSE is a premium 10A portable EV charging cable designed specifically for Japanese-import Tesla vehicles with the NACS/Tesla charge port.
It plugs directly into a standard New Zealand 10A household outlet and directly into the vehicle, providing up to 2.3kW of AC charging without needing a Type 2 adaptor.
Important: This EVSE is for Japanese-import Teslas with the NACS/Tesla charge port. It is not suitable for NZ-new, Australian or UK-market Teslas with a Type 2 charge port.
Best for
- Japanese-import Tesla owners needing a dedicated home charging solution
- Regular charging from a standard NZ household outlet
- Travel, bach or workplace charging
- Keeping in the vehicle as a portable or backup EVSE
Compatibility
Vehicle connector: NACS / Tesla connector.
Designed for Japanese-market Tesla vehicles with the NACS/Tesla charge port, including Japanese-import:
- Tesla Model 3

Charging speed guide
At the full 10A setting, this EVSE provides approximately 2.3kW of AC charging power.
As a rough guide, a typical EV may gain around 15-18km of driving range per hour, or approximately 120-145km over an 8-hour overnight charge.
Actual charging speed and range added will vary depending on the vehicle, battery state, charging losses, EVSE settings and driving efficiency.

Choosing the right EV charging setup
This EVSE is specifically designed for Japanese-import Teslas with a NACS/Tesla charge port and is a convenient solution for charging directly from a standard NZ household outlet.
If you regularly charge at home and want significantly faster charging, a 32A wall-mounted EVSE can provide up to around 7.4kW on single phase. Japanese-import Teslas can use a suitable Type 2 to NACS charging cable with a socketed Type 2 wall EVSE.
Important safety notes
- Always plug the EVSE directly into a suitable fixed wall outlet.
- Do NOT use extension leads, multi-boards, double adapters, travel adapters, plug converters or homemade adapters.
- Unwind the charging cable fully before use.
- Ensure the outlet and wiring are in good condition and suitable for continuous EV charging loads.
- If the outlet, plug or cable becomes hot, loose, damaged or discoloured, stop using it and have it inspected.
