Add support to Tesla Model S with either Type 2 or NACS connector to CCS2 Charging.
This conversion is required for any import Tesla Model S that wants to charge at any CCS charging site. Be it Tesla Superchargers, or any pf the other chargers around NZ. Historically, you would be able to charge at the Tesla Superchargers using the Type 2 port, but that is being phased out by Tesla with their new V3 and newer chargers they are installing nation wide. You can use the NACS to CHAdeMO adaptor, but you will be limited to <50kW charging, which is very slow compared to the 140+ we've seen our own Model S do at a CCS after this conversion.
We source genuine Tesla parts to fit to the car, and for Type 2 cars we use genuine adaptors too, but for NACS there is no Tesla adaptor available and we use a third party adaptor. All adaptors we use have a locking pin. We think this is extremely important, as other adaptors you can unplug while charging. For AC charging this isn't a deal breaker, but for DC could cause some extremely unpleasant situations.
We can fit these parts to your car either in Taupo, or optionally in Christchurch or Auckland (installer availability permitting).
This conversion is different from the previous Type 2 Conversion we do. That conversion replaces the charge port with a Type 2 Socket and 3 phase charging, allowing up to 22kW charging on a 3 phase AC connection. That conversion can be installed with this conversion as a combo, but only in Taupo.
